Dark masses of cloud spread across the frame while areas of pale light break through above the water. The shoreline and horizon are still there, but only as fragments; weather, sea and land seem to run into one another.
Using intentional camera movement during the exposure, the black and white photograph moves away from being a literal description of a storm. It becomes more about shifting tone and uncertainty—the feeling of weather passing across the coast rather than a precise record of it.
