Fine Art Prints & Editions
A photograph isn't finished for me simply because the image exists. The print is part of the work.
I make photographs with the finished physical object in mind: its scale, the surface of the paper, the separation of tones and the way light is held within the print.
My prints are produced as archival fine-art pigment prints on heavyweight cotton rag paper. I use papers whose surface and tonal response suit the photographs rather than treating printing as an incidental step between image and frame.
Editions
Most photographs are produced in small limited editions. The edition and available sizes for each work are shown on its individual artwork page.
Some works belong to particular edition groups, including Master and Legacy Editions. Where this applies, it is identified with the photograph.
Each print is supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
Paper and Printing
Prints are made using archival pigment inks on heavyweight fine-art cotton rag papers, including Ilford Galerie Smooth Cotton Rag and Hahnemühle Photo Rag.
I only offer a photograph at sizes I believe the original file or scan can properly support. Bigger is not automatically better. Detail, tone and the character of the photograph determine how far I am prepared to enlarge it.
A white paper border is retained around the image, with its precise dimensions varying according to the format of the photograph.
Sizing
Scale changes a photograph. Some pictures need room and work particularly well as large prints. Others are more intimate and are better encountered at a smaller size.
The available dimensions therefore vary from photograph to photograph rather than every work being forced into the same format.
Framing
Framed prints available within Australia are presented in handcrafted shadow-box frames made from FSC-certified Victorian Ash, with archival mounting materials and museum-grade acrylic glazing.
Framing and shipping availability varies according to print size and format.
Delivery
Unframed prints and framed works are available for free delivery within Australia. Unframed works are shipped internationally. International shipping costs are detailed before checkout.
