Sometimes it takes a chance waving of a lamp light being moved to better illuminate a cooking, campfire meal to find a picture. So it was on this cold night in 2023 in the mountains of southern New South Wales, Australia.

The trees around the campsite had presented as forgettable in the daylight and had completely disappeared in the moonless darkness. Yet, that chance appearance in the waving LED light, offered ideas for a picture. The darkness was going nowhere any time soon so I ruminated and plotted over steak and wine, looking into the possibility of the blackness around me.

Imagine this print in your living space, perhaps above a console table or as a focal point in a gallery wall. Its high-contrast texture draws the eye, inviting contemplation of light, texture and natural design in a void of dark.

Edition of just five archival prints made from an original medium format digital negative. Includes signed & numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

This is then placed in a hand-crafted shadowbox frame made from FSC-certified Australian timber, protected by durable 3mm museum-grade plexiglass.
