I went to Pennington Bay expecting sunset colour. It didn't arrive.
What eventually appeared was quieter: a faint residue of light catching parts of the cliffs while the sea and sky slipped further into blue. I made six ten-second exposures and later stitched them together, allowing the moving water to soften around the harder forms of rock.
I like that the photograph came from waiting after the picture I had planned had already failed. The light that remained was enough.
