Ocean Rivers #6972

from $450.00

Ocean Rivers is less about the horizon as a boundary than the movement gathering around it.

After sunset, cool blue light settles over the Pacific while the long exposure draws clouds into soft horizontal forms and turns the surface of the ocean into pale flowing channels. Pink remains briefly in the fading light, suspended between the deeper blues of sea and sky.

The photograph moves between seascape and abstraction. The horizon remains the quiet anchor, but almost everything around it appears to be moving. Water becomes pattern; clouds become colour; time becomes visible.

I am drawn to that moment after the sun has disappeared, when the eastern sky briefly carries light that feels detached from daytime. The camera holds it for longer than the eye can.

The sea remains recognisable. Time is what makes it unfamiliar.
