A boy runs beside his dog at the edge of Dudley Beach, small against the scale of headland, sky and shining surf.

The photograph is about something photography can never fully preserve: the experience that becomes memory. I watched the two of them play and realised I was witnessing the beginning of memories that belonged to someone else.

The curved edge of wet sand leads towards the figures before the beach opens to ocean and cliff. They are tiny within the landscape, but they become its emotional centre.

A photograph can hold the moment. The memory will belong to him.

This is then placed in a hand-crafted shadowbox frame made from FSC-certified Australian timber, protected by durable 3mm museum-grade plexiglass.
