‘Newcastle Ocean Baths #0026 reduces the ocean pool to a quiet arrangement of water, geometry and light. The numbered starting blocks punctuate the far edge of the pool, while the diving platform and solitary warning post rise against the horizon. A long exposure transforms the water into an almost seamless surface, softening movement and allowing the architecture to become the dominant presence. Beyond the pool, the Pacific forms a dark horizontal boundary beneath the sky.
