On a cool winter day at Merewether Ocean Baths, I made a 17-minute exposure—long enough for swimmers completing their laps towards the numbered starting blocks to disappear from the photograph. What remains is the pool without its transient occupants: architecture, water and number becoming a quiet space into which memory can enter.’
