The clear, low light moves across Uluru's long face, revealing vertical channels, folds and dark recesses that are easily lost when the rock is seen only as a distant silhouette. Pale grasses and low desert vegetation occupy the foreground, establishing scale without distracting from the immense geological form beyond.
I was interested in the way winter light made something so familiar become physical again: not simply an Australian icon, but stone shaped by weather, time, shadow and light.
