A single Acacia rises into a dark sky, its fine foliage catching the light while the trunk and branches divide into an intricate structure beneath it. Small white clouds appear almost weightless beside the tree.
During the drive north, trees repeatedly gave me reasons to stop. Against such an expansive landscape, an isolated tree acquires an unexpected presence.
This one seemed completely at ease within the space around it.
I wasn't trying to photograph a type of tree. I was photographing this tree.
