“A photograph isn’t real until you can touch it.” This is a quote by...umm... me
This picture is important to me for several reasons.
Firstly, it wasn't easy to get to the place where the waves washed through without washing me away (and still make an interesting picture). Secondly, choosing a composition when using a very wide lens pointed down is always fiddly. Even more so when trying to show detail in the distance. Being off by a few millimetres can completely ruin a picture. So technically and physically, I am pleased with my efforts.
More importantly, this image's significance lies in how ‘wet’ it looks when printed on thick cotton rag paper. I’m proud to say that, at least on this occasion, I did my job well. I chose the best equipment and techniques to match my creativity, skill, and experience.
Bumping up the contrast and saturation is excellent for boosting love on Instagram or 500px. Printing images on metallic paper and mounting them behind high gloss acrylic adds a lot of bling.
To me, though, printing on real paper is when an art lover can properly hold the pixels. It is the next best thing since capturing on film and printing directly from a negative. And not so easy to thumb swipe away. #3055
Every picture I have made encapsulates the essence of my story. Whether it is intricate details, obscure abstracts, or expansive vistas, each piece is unique. The artistry in my archival, museum-quality prints is crafted to evoke emotion and capture moments in time.
This Limited Edition is available in three sizes, with a maximum of five prints plus up to two Artist Proofs.

‘I make photographs to hang on walls and be appreciated for lifetimes. The soft texture of these bright white papers is integral to how I want you to see and ‘feel’ my work.’
Foley Fine Art Prints are supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. They are expertly crafted to ensure archival quality on Ilford Prestige Galerie Smooth Cotton Rag or Hahnemühle Photo Rag heavyweight paper. The paper size allows for a 20mm white border, but as I treat each scene individually, different pictures may have bespoke crop or form factors.
Australia-wide delivery is free via trackable courier, fully insured for damages. Please allow 14-21 days for production and delivery.
For Australian-based clients, framing options include dry-mounting your giclée print to an acid-free 5mm foam board with an archival adhesive film. This is then placed in a hand-crafted shadowbox frame made from FSC-certified Australian timber, protected by durable 3mm museum-grade plexiglass. The frame is finished with framer’s tape and stainless steel hanging wire.
